Let's meet the panelists!
Elyse grew up in Richardson, TX, but has lived Austin for her entire career. After graduating from Texas A&M University with a BA in Finance, she moved to Austin to work as a financial fraud analyst. She has since moved into commercial lending and currently works as the Director of Underwriting at a start-up, Able Lending. She has been involved with Polished Austin since its inception and is honored to be serving as director. She loves being an advocate for women in business and encouraging women in their career and faith. In her free time, Elyse volunteers with local animal shelters and lives the life of a single dog mom in the greatest dog-friendly city on earth.
Shaina is an entrepreneur, business owner, real estate agent, wife, mom, and wine & travel enthusiast. With her passion for coming alongside others and helping them excel, Shaina has taken the business she started as a single agent and grown it into a thriving team. In her first year of the business, she was awarded both Platinum Top 50 Newcomer of the Year and Rookie of the Year in her market center. She co-founded and is the President of Butterfly Kids, a non-profit located in Austin that seeks to serve children effected by cancer. She also brought Polished, a non-profit dedicated to professional women explore their career + faith, to Austin in 2014 and served as the Director for two years. Shaina is married to her college sweet-heart Bobby Moats, and they have two daughters - Isabella and Josephine.
Avery owns SAvery, a gourmet grilled cheese food truck where 10% of all sales are given to organizations that are fighting against modern day slavery. The idea of SAvery began while Avery was abroad on a humanitarian trip, where she spent 11 months in 11 countries. She worked with organizations that are helping formerly enslaved women, men and children become self-sufficient through healing, equipping and giving of their time/finances. With SAvery, she offers endless options for a staple that everyone loves by putting a creative twist on it. All of SAvery’s vendors are local, making the business both locally and globally conscious.
