In the special world of family-owned enterprises, Sue Fish understands how to make a difference where family dynamics exist, business agility is essential, and creative solutions drive success. She is drawn to opportunities to work directly with people who are being impacted, bringing passion and energy that engage them in designing their futures. Known as an independent and logical thinker, Sue often sheds light where others don’t and solves problems that haven’t yet found solutions. For Sue, no problem is too big and no idea is too trivial for consideration.
Currently, Sue is the Managing Director of JFO Group, where she uses her extensive experience with family owned enterprises to manage both business and family matters. Her expertise with family succession planning combined with her ability to oversee operations made her an ideal fit for this position.
As an independent financial and business consultant to privately held businesses, Sue has provided invaluable advice and solutions, drawing upon her extensive business experience. She has been sought out by business owners needing a trusted advisor to assist them in diverse matters including complicated real estate transactions, succession planning and complex estate planning structures.
Previously, as SVP and CFO of the Rosewood Corporation and President of Rosewood Property Company, a private, family-held business, Sue chaired the Investment Committee and oversaw all financial operations, investments, and strategic direction for family ownership. Among her accomplishments was the successful completion of Rosewood Court, 400,000 square feet of Class A office space in the gateway business section of prestigious Uptown Dallas. She also diversified the company’s business holdings, mitigating risk while increasing absolute returns and cash flow.
Earlier, Sue held financial and tax management positions with Trammell Crow, a private and partially family-owned business dealing in real estate and hospitality investments. In addition to her functional responsibilities, she was instrumental in developing sophisticated governance and succession planning practices that fortified the company for continuing family ownership. She began her career at Arthur Andersen & Company where she rose the ranks to Tax Manager.
Sue received an MAS in Taxation and BS in Accountancy from the University of Illinois and is licensed as a CPA in Texas. She received the designation as a Certified Financial Planner in June 2015. Sue holds a paid board position with the Denihan Hospitality Group where she co-chairs the Finance Committee. She also serves on the boards of the E2M Real Estate Board and The Real Estate Council, and the University of Illinois College of Business.
