At the Crossroads of Faith + Work

Bloom Widely

February 15 | 11:30-12:30 pm

Fellowship Center - Houston's First Baptist Church

Did you know that plants bloom with more strength and abundance when there is variety in the garden? Each plant offers something helpful, whether it be adding nutrients to the soil, attracting helpful insects, or warding off harmful pests. The diversity of the garden is correlated to the health of the soil and the plants. We can learn a lot from these kinds of mutually beneficial relationships. Alone, in a homogenous culture, we are lacking the vitality and beauty that diversity has to offer. While it is important to recognize the value of diversity in the workplace, creating environments where women can thrive with equity has not been the reality for many of our sisters. This month, we want to honor and uplift those who have not always had the invitation or the space to bloom. This month, women from a broad and beautiful spectrum join together to encourage, support and learn about flourishing in the workplace.
