Ivy Ruths is a clinical psychologist who specializes in treating severe anxiety disorders in children, adolescents, and adults.  She works primarily with individuals with generalized anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, perfectionism, separation anxiety, phobias, and body-focused repetitive behaviors.  She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Houston in 2014 and has worked in different settings throughout her career.

Ivy grew up in Sugar Land, Texas, attended undergrad at the University of Texas at Austin.  Ivy is mom to Colette, or Coco as she prefers to be called, a 7-year-old, happy, healthy first grader.  She balances being a single, working mother, a daughter, sister, friend, and girlfriend by utilizing some of the same great practices she encourages her clients to use which include: daily personal time, using evidence to reframe her thinking and challenging herself to live a life based on her values, and not on her anxieties or fears (which just come with the territory of being a full-time working woman and are completely normal!).

She currently runs her own independent practice and serves as the middle school counselor at a Houston private school.  In her free time she loves reading fiction, writing poetry, going to yoga.... and watching trashy reality television (guilty pleasures count as self-care!).  She is excited to share her tips and ideas on balancing values, career, and all the roles and hats we women wear on a daily basis with Polished Houston.

Maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle has been a life-long pursuit for Taylor. Growing up in a health-conscious home and being introduced to the world of fitness and nutrition at a very young age is a large reason for why she is so passionate about helping others achieve the same.

Taylor received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from Texas Christian University and went on to pursue a career as a Registered Dietitian. She started her own private practice with a focus on one-on-one consultations as well as Corporate Wellness. She has since moved into a different realm of health and wellness as a Pure Barre studio owner in Houston, TX. She also has a thriving online global health and wellness business that allows her the opportunity to not only continue her passion in the field of nutrition, but also help others create a life by design.

Taylor is a native Houstonian, a wife, dog-mom, and a foster-dog mom. She enjoys making healthy meals, baking healthy treats, volunteering at the Harris County Animal Shelter, walking her dogs, and spending time with her family.

Teresa has been working in the fitness industry for almost 10 years, and is currently co-owner, along with her husband, of CrossFit Central Houston.

She began participating in sports at a young age, all the way through college as a heptathlete and hammer thrower on the Rice University track & field team.  While at Rice, she earned 5 team WAC Championships and a BA in Health Science. She later went on to earn a masters in Education Psychology from the University of Houston.

Teresa found CrossFit in April of 2010 after searching for a fitness routine that would provide the intensity and fun that her solo workouts were missing.  Since then she has fallen in love with the sport of competitive CrossFit. Teresa has competed at both a national and worldwide level, including twice at the CrossFit Games.

After spending 6 years as a middle school teacher, coaching CrossFit classes blends her two loves of teaching and fitness.  She is passionate about helping others reach their goals and believes that CrossFit offers the physical and mental challenge that allows its participants to push themselves beyond what they thought possible.  Teresa also feels a strong calling to show women, especially, the physical and mental benefits of weightlifting in particular.

Outside of CrossFit, Teresa is a regular worship leader at New Hope church.  She and her husband live in Houston with their dog, Abby.
